Prof Buurman presents the Swiss Design Institute for Finance and Banking (SDFB)
Tuesday, September 18 2007
In this webcast we talked to Professor Gerhard Buurman, who manages the newly created Swiss Design Institute for Finance and Banking (SDFB), which was launched in June ‘07 (disclosure: Arvetica partner Stefano Mastrogiacomo will be part of the research council that advises the SDFB on projects).
In the webcast Professor Buurman explains that the SDFB aims at creating different views and scenarios on what private banking might look like in the future. He illustrates how design as a discipline can contribute to improving private banking. For example through tools and methodologies, such as user centered design. The SDFB will particularly focus on how bank-client interactions and the advisory process could look like a few years from now. To achieve this their objective is to present, among other things, tangible prototypes.

By the way, this is one of the last webcasts we’ve shot with a webcam. Because of the shortcomings we decided to switch to a high-quality digicam.
