James Gardner on Innovation Management in Banking
Monday, September 10 2007
For this podcast we talked to James Gardner, who is Head of Innovation and Research at Lloyds TSB. James shared his experience with innovation processes in banking and gives us some useful insights into managing innovation. In the podcast he explains how to prioritize among a large number of ideas and outlines how to measure business returns in innovation projects.
Asked about how to best foster an innovative culture, James stresses that the problem in innovation are not the ideas, but taking those ideas and including them into something that is applicable in the market.
Enjoy the podcast (unfortunately the quality of the call and thus recording was not ideal):

James regularly publishes his thoughts on his blog, Bankervision, and is one of the founders of a new innovation forum where peer bankers regularly discuss different topics around innovation in a phone conference. Please email us if you want us to put you into contact with James Gardner.
