Arthur Bolliger of Maerki Baumann & Co. SA Private Bank Shares his Experience
Monday, September 3 2007
We had the great opportunity to talk to Mr Arthur Bolliger, former CEO and now member of the board of Maerki Baumann & Co. SA Private Bank. In the webcast he gives us some great insights into his understanding of what private banking really is and the experience he acquired during his successful career in top management.
From an organizational and innovation point of view it was interesting to learn about Mr Bolliger’s view on the private banking value chain and why Maerki Baumann decided to break-up and reconfigure its own value chain. As a consequence of Maerki Baumann’s decision to streamline their value chain they launched InCore Bank, which already received a banking license from the Swiss authorities.
InCore is a transaction bank that fully focuses on Business Process Outsourcing (BPO). This allows Maerki Baumann Private Bank to concentrate on its core competency of private banking, while outsourcing all the rest to its sister company. At the same time its sister company InCore offers BPO services to other banks and thus achieves economies of scale. This is still a very innovative move in Swiss private banking.
At the end of the webcast we asked Mr. Bolliger about his most important “lessons learned” during his career. We encourage you to enjoy the full webcast here:
