Jean-Christophe Pernollet on PWC’s Global Private Banking Survey 2007
Wednesday, August 8 2007
Today Jean-Christophe Pernollet, Partner at Price Waterhouse Coopers, visited us at Arvetica to talk about their recent Global Private Banking/Wealth Management Survey 2007.
We started the conversation with some of the particularities of the hybrid business models we see in the market today, which blend open architecture with proprietary in-house products and services. Then Jean-Christophe touched on various internal challenges that private banks and wealth managers are currently facing, notably the work that still remains to be done on the HR side. For example, one striking fact is that most wealth managers spend less than 5′000 $US on training of their relationship officers. This seems to contradict quite strongly with the importance that is given to them and the steadily rising qualifications of their job.

PS: Don’t get distracted by the sirens you hear in background of the video - I forgot to close the window before filming and it seems that Geneva went through a particularly turbulent morning…
